empty shopping cart

Just a quick note to say I successfully navigated the aisles of Walmart yesterday AND I DIDN’T BUY A THING!  I wasn’t even tempted.  Progress I’d say!

I also went through my shelf of “Noni Books” that I’d carted around for the past 14 years.  I was a teacher for many years and amassed a small library of favorite books that I thought I’d read to my grandkids one day.  Well, that day has come and I don’t really want to read or own ALL of the books.  I made three piles; keep, give to homeschooling daughter, give to school library.  I now have a nice orderly shelf with only my very favorite stories – less than a dozen.

It feels so good to keep only those books that I know I will use over the next several years while the boys are young.  They will be read and enjoyed.  Then I will give those away.

With each shelf cleared and each box donated I feel freedom.  Less stuff.  Less clutter.  Less to dust.  Less to pack and carry to my next step along the road.

I have a dream.  A home of my own.  A bit of land to cultivate.  Quality of life not quantity of possessions.  Minimizing my possessions is part of that dream.

Minimize.  Simplify.
